The Cultural Sensitivity module increases preceptors' cultural awareness and responsiveness to International Medical Graduates (IMGs) in order to facilitate their successful integration into Newfoundland and Labrador`s health care system.
The Health Care System in Newfoundland module assists preceptors to work with IMGs in a manner that will facilitate the development of the knowledge and skills necessary for them to successfully practice in the Newfoundland and Labrador health care system.
The Teaching on the Fly module increases preceptor's awareness and utilization of proven teaching methodologies in order to strengthen their effectiveness in the preceptor role.
The Providing Effective Feedback module increases the preceptor's awareness and utilization of proven teaching methodologies and effective feedback practices in order to strengthen their effectiveness in the preceptor role.
The Learner in Difficulty module will increase preceptor’s awareness of learning problems learners may have that can influence their learning ability. This module provides effective teaching methodologies and strategies to assist preceptors as they plan a positive learning experience for their learners.
A Zen Approach: Getting Your Practice Ready for a Learner module provides proven teaching strategies and learner-centered resources to assist preceptors in preparing their teaching practice that will facilitate a positive learning experience.
This program has been developed based on identified needs of medical school preceptors. Its goal is to increase preceptors' understanding of the characteristics of adult learners and the principles of adult learning as they can be applied in preceptor-led clinical teaching.
The Mentoring Process: This module has been developed based on identified needs of physician mentors in the community and medical school preceptors. Its goal is to increase the preceptors' understanding of each phase of the mentoring process and to provide some teaching tools and guides that can be used in mentor-led / preceptor-led clinical teaching.
